BIG RAPIDS, Mich.- Ferris State University Athletics, a member of The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Association, uses Podium X to offer student-athletes career development and personal marketing tools along with direct access to curated jobs for former athletes. Podium X changes the way student-athletes prepare and apply for jobs and internships, as well as market themselves for NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) prospects.

“We are excited to partner with Podium X to continue to provide our student-athletes with innovative tools that will help them succeed at both Ferris State and long after their athletic careers conclude,” says Senior Associate Athletic Director Sara Higley. “This partnership reflects our unwavering commitment to the holistic development of our student-athletes.”

The Podium X platform (www.podiumx.com) takes a fresh approach to the student-athlete experience by offering an online profile that is specially designed for athletes to highlight their unique journey and valuable soft skills often developed through athletics. This Podium Profile serves as an enhanced resume listing business, athletic, leadership, and educational experience, even media clips about their sports careers.  Students can create traditional resume PDFs with one click, apply to jobs within the platform or externally with AI assistance to create cover letters, thank you notes, interview prep and resume optimization. With the recent addition of an all-encompassing resume parser, athletes can upload resumes to generate Podiums and customize resumes with 20 templates, fonts, colors, column spacing, and more.

This partnership ensures Ferris State athletes gain access to career-building tools that support their transition from the field to the future and is part of the GLIAC’s dedication to be at the forefront of student-athlete stewardship. Founded in 1972, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is a nationally-recognized leader in the advancement and promotion of intercollegiate athletics.
