Toledo Athletics Partners with Podium X
Podium X provides student-athletes with career-building tools to help prepare for life after sports
TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo Athletic Department is excited to announce its partnership with Podium X, a platform that provides student-athletes with career-building tools to assist in their transition to life after college athletics.
Podium X seeks to change the way student-athletes apply for jobs and prepares them to launch meaningful careers after graduation by focusing on transferrable skills acquired by playing sports. Each student-athlete creates a profile to highlight their brand, tell their story, and showcase their skills and experiences to potential employers. Podium X also offers a one-button PDF resume creator to remove some of the hassle of putting together a resume from scratch.
“A main focus of our recently launched strategic plan is ensuring student-athlete success, with the goal of 100% placement upon graduation,” said Toledo Vice President and Director of Athletics Bryan B. Blair. “Podium X gives our student-athletes a powerful tool to assist their pursuit of internship, career, and NIL opportunities all in one comprehensive application.”
Podium X was developed by experts in career services with extensive experience in staffing and recruiting, training/development, talent management, and human resources. It is backed by the power of XPG Recruit Athlete, a division of Jacksonville, Florida-based XPG Recruit, with an experienced team that specializes in placing graduated athletes into career opportunities.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to connect our student-athletes to such an amazing resource,” said Director of Student-Athlete Development Traci Korte. “Podium X meets them where they are, to help guide the journey to where they are headed during and after sport. I wish I had had access to such a great tool during my later years in college to guide my process in applying for jobs before and after graduation. Podium X is going to allow our student-athletes to feel prepared and confident when networking with prospective employers and applying for full-time jobs.”
Podium X is the result of two years of research in combination with the development of programs that provide career solutions for transitioning athletes. Built on the success of placing athletes into organizations based on traits learned through athletics, Podium X is designed to simplify the process of recognizing those transferrable skills and experiences to create paths to successful, long-term careers. Their team is comprised of former athletes offering a combination of experience in career services, staffing, coaching, training, and human resources.
